Soucouyant

In Trinidad, they say the Soucouyant can take many forms. Sometimes that of a candle flame, sometimes that of your neighbor, or your lover. When The Soucouyant enters your home, she sheds her skin - loose as it is from so much replacement - and crawls atop you, or perhaps embraces you, and sucks every drop of blood that God put has put in you. They say the Soucouyant communes with the Demon King inside the Silk Cotton Tree, offering her victim’s blood in exchange for black magics. They say a fire burns bright inside the Soucouyant, bright enough to burn us all to a crisp.

Tonight, you are the Soucouyant.
